There are a lot of enemies to fight and they will throw grenades often. This is something that you will likely unlock by naturally playing. When you see that, quickly shoot that enemy and they will drop the grenade. So, if you see that radius on an enemy, that means they are about to throw a grenade at you. This radius will actually show up before the enemy has thrown the grenade. When they do, you’ll see a red explosion radius from the incoming grenade. While in combat, enemies will throw grenades at you. You made an enemy drop an exploding grenade This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement. Go to a grafter (DNA strand icon) and choose “Go in for surgery” > Reset Skills. The more skill points you’ve used, the more expensive this will be. This is best earned early in the game before you have used a lot of skill points. If you get through the game and still don’t have this, you’re gonna have to let enemies kill you. Just like the first Trophy/Achievement, there’s nothing else to say other than die a lot. There are two co op Trophies/Achievements here, but they can be completed either online or in couch co op with a second controller.Įarn all the other Trophies in ‘The Ascent’ to unlock Platinum, including Online Trophies

Some of the miscellaneous Trophies/Achievements will require late game progress as well, so a majority of this list won’t be completed until later in the story. So, you don’t really have much of a choice but to save the side missions for late in the game or even after completing the story. Areas won’t become unlocked until you visit them via the story first. Most of them are locked behind inaccessible areas and high enemy levels. You’re going to want to play through the story before doing the side missions. Below is a complete list of all the side missions, their suggested level, and the area the quest-giver is located. This happened for me during Lost and Found when you inspect the yellow bags (didn't progress after checking all three) and during Dreadful Situation when you need to kill everyone in the Glittering Rose (they didn't spawn).

Some of these can be slightly buggy, so if you find you've got to a location where the side missions should progress and it doesn't, you may need to exit your game and reload to try again. These will show up as a yellow diamond on your map, and can be tracked separately from your main mission if you need help find where to go.

There are a total of 28 side missions in The Ascent. You should only have two achievements left at this point which will require a quick co-op session. Finish up any remaining side-quests, find out what if any codex entries you are missing and where to find them, and see if you have any miscellaneous or combat related achievements to knock out and do so now. There is nothing missable, and all content and locations will be available to play after the story is complete.Īfter you finish the story, look through your list and see what is left to complete. Playing solo will bypass all that.Īnyway, whichever way you decide to try for the completion, your main focus should be to complete the story first. If you DO play in co-op, you should ONLY play in co-op and try to always play with the same person/people so nothing changes as far as the game is concerned - you should probably never swap back and forth between a solo and co-op playthrough either. The game's achievements are very finnicky when playing co-op, and there is no guarantee what will or won't have issues as far as tracking progress for quests, codex entries, etc. Now, I suggest playing this game solo solely for achievement purposes.
